With Measured's comprehensive approach to weight loss, you'll receive a personalized treatment plan with prescription weight loss medication (if appropriate), health coaching, and customized meal planning.

After joining, you'll be paired with a dedicated Care Team -  comprised of a provider, care coordinator, insurance specialist, and health coach – who will work together to build your treatment plan, optimize your cost-savings, and ensure you lose the weight, once and for all.

What medications does Measured offer?

Measured providers are able to prescribe 10 unique weight loss medications. They include brand-name GLP-1s (Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Zepbound®, and Mounjaro®), compounded GLP-1s (Compounded Semaglutide and Compounded Tirzepatide), and oral weight loss medications (metformin, bupropion, naltrexone, and topiramate).  

How much weight can I lose? 

A recent study reported that tirzepatide (the active ingredient in Compounded Tirzepatide, Zepbound®, and Mounjaro®) delivered up to 22.5% weight loss in adults with obesity in 72 weeks. A second study reported that semaglutide (the active ingredient in Compounded Semaglutide, Ozempic®, and Wegovy®) delivered up to a 20% weight loss in adults with obesity in 68 weeks.

How much does Measured cost?

Measured's membership usually costs $78/month, but for a limited time only, you can receive the first month for 50% off! A Measured membership includes unlimited messaging access with your provider and Care Team, monthly prescription refills, health coaching, personalized meal guides, and more. Compounded medications are an additional cost – Compounded Semaglutide costs $250/mo and Compounded Tirzepatide costs $349/mo.

How does Measured work with my insurance?

Your Care Team will work directly with your insurance to understand your coverage level for all prescription weight loss medications. If a prescription weight loss medication is appropriate for you, you and your Care Team will then work with you to make the choice that best suits your goals and budget. If a prior authorization is necessary to get coverage, our team will handle that in its entirety, too. 

What happens if I don't have insurance coverage?

No coverage? No problem! There are plenty of effective and affordable weight loss medication options with Measured. If your insurance will not cover the cost of a brand-name medication, you can still choose to pay for it out-of-pocket (estimated cost: $1,200/month). An alternative safe and affordable means of utilizing GLP-1s is through Measured's compounding offering – which are made of the same active ingredients as brand-name GLP-1s. We offer Compounded Semaglutide ($250/month) and Compounded Tirzepatide ($349/month), both of which are shipped directly to your home. Lastly, your Measured provider can also write prescriptions for oral weight loss medications. These typically do not require insurance prior authorization (estimated cost: under $10/month). 

How long until I receive my medication?

After completing onboarding, a Measured provider will review your consultation in 1-2 business days. If needed, an Insurance Specialist on our team will then submit your insurance prior authorization, which typically takes 1-2 days.  The process of becoming a member to having your medication in-hand typically takes about 1 week. 

Is Measured available in my state?

What are the side effects?

Each medication that Measured offers may have slightly different side effects. However, GLP-1s are generally well-tolerated, non-habit forming, and side effects are rare. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal distress and nausea, but these side effects typically go away with time. In recent clinical trials, less than 5% of people discontinued GLP-1 medications because of side effects.
